ASSISTED LIVING

Assisted Living Facility

This project consisted of a two-story interior refresh of an assisted living facility located in Richmond, Virginia. Community spaces for the facility—the library, dining room, lounge, physical therapy room and additional spaces—were remodeled with new finishes. New finishes included: paint and wallcoverings, ceiling tile, flooring and new LED lighting. The residents’ salon received new finishes including a new washing & styling station with an adjustable sink. Automatic door operators were installed for easy access to outdoor patio spaces for residents. The main entrance and lobby were also reconfigured to improve access to the entrance and new reception desk. Nurse stations, staff offices and restrooms were also included in the renovation. This facility was occupied during construction. Our team coordinated closely with nurses & staff to keep residents comfortable and informed about upcoming work; our team also coordinated the Owner’s art installation, furniture delivery, & separate elevator cab upgrades.

Formal Dining  Room Renovation

W. E. Bowman Construction, Inc. completed a renovation of a formal dining room for an assisted living facility in Richmond, Virginia. We completed this project in (7) weeks on a fast-track schedule to turn over the dining room just in time for an annual Thanksgiving dinner hosted by the facility for residents and their families. We installed a custom wine rack and designed and built a wine room, including custom-built sliding doors, built in our shop with mahogany shipped from Honduras for the doors and Africa for the frame. Our team traveled to Cincinnati, Ohio to pick up the custom wine rack when our vendor was unable to ship the product in time to meet the deadline for our Client. Although the wine room and wine rack were the main features of this dining room renovation, upgrades also included the installation of acoustical panels, installation of solar-adaptive, motorized shades, new wallcovering for a private dining area, new countertops at the hostess stand, and construction of wing walls to re-configure the entrance to the dining room.
