#FlashbackFriday -- VMFA Fabergé Gallery

One of our most elegant past projects was the renovation of the VMFA Fabergé Gallery. We pride ourselves on our expert craftsmanship and this project was no different. In the gallery, we installed the custom architectural woodwork and mouldings, hardwood parquet flooring, ornamental plaster work including a plaster dome and museum quality gallery lighting. “Our work enhances the environment to showcase the level of detail and quality of the Faberge collection.” Every museum gallery must be “appropriate to focus attention on the exhibit, we are proud to have these world class artifacts be the focal point of our workmanship.”

Working in an occupied facility as significant and delicate as the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, we utilized temporary construction walls and barriers, as well as temporary doors to contain our work area and provide security. We also used negative air machines to control dust and worked varying shifts so as to not disrupt the normal flow and business of the museum.

We could not have completed this project without some of our favorite partners!

Glavé & Holmes Architecture provided the world class design; F. Richard Wilton Jr. Inc. Builds completed the interior construction and plaster; and Costen Floors installed the hardwood flooring. It truly was a team effort to complete the space that enhances the experience of visiting VMFA Fabergé Gallery.
